Greetings from GoatBack Mountain

We have a clear mission mission here at GoatBack Mountain.

That mission is to agree on a mission some day. 

Until then…  GoatBack Mountain is a wilderness ranch nestled in the Cleveland National Forest in northeast San Diego, California.  We're located across from the Palomar Observatory, a world-famous astronomical research facility that has discovered all kinds of unearthly things. 

GoatBack Mountain also is a state of mind as much as a real place.  So, if you’re easily distracted… then you’ve come to the right place. 

What's with the name?

The real and surreal truth is we think Goats are cool.  So we named the ranch accordingly.  Read Why Goats rule.

Soon we'll have our first packing Goats at the ranch.  They love to hike and carry one's gear. They're friendly, courteous and kind - most likely would be Boy Scouts if they were people.

You can escape to GoatBack Mountain even if you don't like the Great Outdoors.  Subscribe to the GoatBack Gazette.  It's free.  It's a diversion. Much like coming to the mountain itself.  Just with fewer bugs and snakes.

We talk a lot about goats in the Gazette... but in ways you might not imagine.

Being flexible.  That's it.  We found our mission.
